TRACKERS 6 75th Anniversary VJ Day – Darwin
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
It is required that all vehicles entered be of WW2 Allied Military Heritage and that all entrants must be Members of one of the recognized Australian Military Vehicle Enthusiast groups approved by the Register for Historic Vehicle Registration.
To ensure that all participants including passengers entering this event have recourse to Public Liability Insurance covering this Event, it is mandatory that all those who are not currently members of a recognized Australian Military Vehicle / Historic vehicle club / historic vehicle group, must be club / group members for the period of this Event.
To find a club that is a current member of the Australian Historic Motoring Federation in your state – click on this link www.ahmf.org.au
All vehicles entered must be legally registered and in a roadworthy condition and all drivers must hold a license to cover the class of vehicle driven.
All Entrants will observe the current road laws and speed limits whilst participating.
As we will be passing through and camping on some National Parks and privately-owned camp sites, PETS of any description are not to be carried under any circumstances.
All Entrants and Passengers shall conduct themselves at all times in an orderly manner, respecting the Event and other Participants and the Public in general. Drivers are responsible for their nominated passengers.
In the event that any participant who blatantly disregards the Conditions of Entry, the Organizers reserve the right to direct that those offenders remove themselves from further participation.
For safety reasons it is required that all vehicles have an operational vehicle-mounted UHF Radio and it is suggested that a remote speaker also be fitted. From past experience, hand-held units are not reliable and their limited range causes confusion. The use of radios during the convoy should be limited to convoy related subjects and not idle chit-chat which is much more conducive of good fellowship around the camp-fire at night.
Telstra Mobile phone coverage has been extended to most sections of the Stuart Highway, so it is strongly encouraged that a Telstra SIM card is obtained for this trip and your Telstra mobile phone number is recorded with the organizers before departure.
It is anticipated that once we depart Alice Springs on Sunday 2nd August 2020, that wherever practical, vehicles should proceed in convoy packet formation with a designated vehicle packet Leader with at least one vehicle with an efficient UHF radio front and rear of each packet of 10 to 12 vehicles, plus the Convoy Control leader at Front and a Tail-end Charlie to enable clear communication from front to rear of convoy. This system should ensure that in the event of any mishaps, nobody is left on the side of the road and that the co-coordinator is aware of any unusual situations.
Amongst participants there will be at least one registered Ambulance Officer and other medically trained personnel. It is therefore recommended that participants who have pre-existing medical conditions which possibly may require attention, either specify their condition on the entry form or discretely advise the organizers at the Assembly area prior to departure.
All Entrants are bound by the Conditions of Entry and upon submitting an Entry Form agree to observe these conditions
